Jeff Keppinger blasted a homerun as the Tampico Stogies defeated the Tombstone
Huckleberries in 12 innings by the score of 2 to 1 at the ballpark.
The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings. Tampico was victorious in the
12th inning. Brett Gardner banged out a single. Mike Aldrich then called
for a steal which was successful. Craig Counsell then ripped a base-knock
making Tampico victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Tampico
ended up with 12 hits for the game while Tombstone had 6.
Francisco Cordero(2-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Brian Fuentes(1-3) was the loser in relief. He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
The Tampico ballclub's record now stands at 44-53. With the loss, Tombstone
has a record of 6-4 lately, 51-46 overall.
